A towel ring that fits into your life.
Wherever life takes you.

Our Story

Our first house in Michigan. One bathroom for the three of us. The walls were fully tiled on both sides of the sink. I was not going to drill into the tile to hang a towel ring. I’d never been a fan of wall-mounted towel rings anyway, an opinion formed designing kitchen and bath accessories for Kohler years earlier.

I bought a countertop towel stand and freed the ring from it. Hitched it to a rope and tied it the shower curtain rod. Hand drying problem solved.

We hung a couple of rings in the kitchen and used fewer paper towels. Another ring found its way to a joist over the basement sink. Now we could dry our hands without dripping water on the floor. And it was great when we gave our dog Coco a bath, too.

When I decided to sell the towel rings, I designed brass end tips to weigh the cords down and went with aluminum rings to enable recycling, finish permitting. Kate, home from college, came up with the wider hitch knot that grips the ring.

Since then Float Towel Rings have found their purpose in new places from campsites to commercial kitchens.
